The people behind MIAN
About 180 volunteers are active for MIAN. Most of them work (or originate from) the world of insurance. But the members also include bank workers, ICT specialists and other professionals.
The work they do for MIAN is largely done in their spare time, but they do enjoy the moral support and material facilitation of their employers. That is not done purely from a sense of social responsibility, it is in the employers’ interests that their ‘MIAN’ employees learn all about working at the very foundations of the insurance business and that they widen their horizons through foreign contacts.
Almost all the members of MIAN are part of one or more working groups or project groups. Those groups are directly concerned with the local projects or provide support in the field of insurance, ICT, financial management or communication. The operations are guided by a board of eight members.
